fischerAppelt boosts fee income in 2008 by 11% to EUR 26.8 million
Hamburg, 10 March 2009 - fischerAppelt continued its positive sales trend
of recent years in 2008: having generated a fee income of EUR 24.1 million
the previous year, the agency group succeeded in topping this figure by
more than 11% in 2008 to generate EUR 26.8 million. Total turnover grew
from EUR 39.7 million to EUR 44.2 million with the average number of
employees rising from 212 to 225. "As well as being generated by the
expansion of our core disciplines, PR, advertising, design, TV and
management consulting, the growth primarily resulted from the optimised
interaction between these fields within the Federation of Ideas and from the
implementation of cross-discipline projects," says Andreas Fischer-Appelt.
fischerAppelt provided integrated communication in 2008 for clients such
as the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (Government Labour Agency), Deutsche
Telekom, Saxony's Tourism Marketing Agency, and the Knappschaft
(miners' guild).
The ability to use different communication disciplines to present targeted themes
and campaigns in different media channels has been one of the agency group's
key competencies and a USP for several years. By realigning itself last year as the
Federation of Ideas, fischerAppelt further strengthened the impact of this
integrative approach. "The Federation of Ideas has provided a genuine boost to
efficiency in the process of collaboration between different specialised units in the
agency group, and it is chiefly our clients who benefit most from that," explains
Andreas Fischer-Appelt.
fischerAppelt also expanded its creative capacities in 2008: the founding of
fischerAppelt, furore strengthened the online and advertising areas. As well as
working for existing customers, fischerAppelt, furore also gained new accounts
with the international expansion of the "be Berlin" campaign and the launch
campaign for Bertelsmann subsidiary scoyo.de. fischerAppelt's design agency
Ligalux also enhanced its customer portfolio in 2008; its clients included Dresden's
Frauenkirche Foundation, Greenpeace, and the University Hospital of Münster.
Ligalux also repositioned itself last year as part of the Federation of Ideas, focusing
on strategy, style and language in addition to classic corporate design.
Another growth motor was the strategic and management consulting operation
fischerAppelt, profiling, which in 2008 significantly increased its accounts in the
fields of mobility, aviation, logistics and transport, as well as telecommunications.
fischerAppelt, profiling among other things, handled a series of advertisements and
a series of video blogs for Deutsche Telekom AG.
In the PR business, fischerAppelt especially grew in the fields of healthcare,
corporate and brand communication in Hamburg, Munich and Frankfurt. The Berlin
office also extended its public-sector client base. The enlargement of its editorial
office had a particularly meaningful impact. Led by the new editor-in-chief, Harald
Ehren, the editorial team doubled in size to a staff of twenty, and now assumes an
important integrative role within the agency group. Despite an increasingly difficult
situation in the capital market in 2008, fischerAppelt, ziegler GmbH recorded good
business in the financial communication field.
From its Stuttgart offices, fischerAppelt, tv media successfully pushed ahead with
the expansion of its IP and Web-TV areas. The agency for moving-picture
communication is responsible for the Mercedes-Benz.tv brand channel, and also
launched the online TV format "TecTV" for the VDI (Association of German
Engineers) and its SACHEN MACHEN ("Do Things") initiative in 2008, among other
things. fischerAppelt, tv media also produced "short takes", a viral campaign for
the "smart" car brand.
Andreas Fischer-Appelt looks with optimism upon the current business year: "In
view of the current economic situation, efficiency and a focus on the results of
communication are becoming more important. By repositioning our various
specialist agencies as the Federation of Ideas we have prepared ourselves very
effectively for this challenge, and can initiate any relevant communication
processes at short notice, effectively networking a range of disciplines together at
any time."
