They got used to rapid communication with new platforms, like Snapchat, they prefer YouTube to TV, or communicating with friends through Facebook rather than mail.

However, older people are increasingly incorporating in their lives, especially at work (although, it depends on the sector), Social Media. For example, we can find a lot of healthcare professionals in Twitter, writing blogs, participating in online discussions, etc.

In fact, in Spain there is a specific wiki (www.wikisanidad.org) where younger and older people work together.
