UNITED KINGDOM

UK GLOBALHealthPR is represented by Santé Communications, one of the top three independent healthcare specialty communications firms in the UK. Liz Shanahan, managing director, previously worked in public affairs at Merck Sharp and Dohme and was a senior director at the European Healthcare Unit of Ketchum PR. Santé has been responsible for some of the industry's most successful product introductions, most notably the global launch of blockbuster asthma drug Seretide/Advair for GlaxoSmithKline and TNK for Boehringer Ingelheim.

GERMANY

In Germany, we are represented by FischerAppelt Kommunikation, GmbH, the fifth largest public relations agency in Germany. Its 120 employees provide integrated communications to clients mainly in healthcare, technology and consumer products combining issue management, corporate profile and design in order to achieve the most successful results for their clients. The healthcare unit — the largest division — serves such clients as AstraZeneca GmbH, Bayer, BioAgency AG, Merck Sharp & Dohme GmbH, Novartis, Sanders of Germany, and Schering AG. FischerAppelt created the groundbreaking communications for Propecia (hair loss) and Vioxx (arthritis) and routinely creates large, multifaceted programmes for many healthcare clients.

USA

Two agencies make up GLOBALHealthPR's US representation, Chamberlain Communications in New York and Spectrum Science Public Relations in Washington, DC.

Chamberlain Communications Group was established by Richard Chamberlain in 1993. Since its inception, Chamberlain has focused its science communications strengths on serving the pharmaceutical industry and many of its best-known brands. The firm's seven-year history with Prozac — delivering messages about the benefits of a drug in such a fractious, politically and emotionally loaded environment — epitomizes Chamberlain's commitment to clients and brands with high-impact social issues. Beyond Prozac, the firm represents clients with cardiovascular, infectious disease, respiratory, cancer and other CNS products, as well as medical associations, patient organizations and managed care companies.

Spectrum Science Public Relations was founded in 1996 by John Seng. The company has since been committed to achieving the goals of clients who are involved with issues, products, provider services or research in life or human health sciences. Spectrum has received many awards for its high quality, strategically sound and technically sophisticated “breakthrough” programs, including the Cycle of Hope, an educational campaign about cancer prevention and detection for Bristol-Myers Squibb in conjunction with Lance Armstrong, cancer survivor and Tour De France champion. Spectrum also offers a sister company, VelocityRx, experts in new media and Internet design for healthcare companies.

FRANCE, CHINA

Our partner in France is GroupePR, the largest independent healthcare communications company in France. Founded in 1985 by Daniel Vial, it is a leader in the health communications market. Three divisions form the company: PR Editions, the publishing arm, offers both printed pharmaceutical publications and internet and
e-business services; PMS provides medical sales representatives and telemarketing services; PR International, the public relations division, provides technical/regulatory consultation, strategic advice, press relations, CME, symposia management and events development and coordination. Groupe PR staff know virtually every regulator, physician, journalist, political figure, professional group or other leader in the scientific/healthcare domain in France. Daniel's career and personal achievements recently culminated in his receipt of France's Chevalier of the Legion of Honor.
